BEFORE
First things first, for about a week or two leading up to your session, steer clear of any retinoids, AHA, BHA, retinols, or antibiotics. We want your skin to be in its prime for the treatment!
And here's a biggie: if you've got any open wounds or active infections happening, hold off on the microneedling for now. We want to make sure your skin's in tip-top shape before we get started.
Oh, and don't forget to give us the scoop on any skin conditions you've got, like psoriasis or dermatitis. That way, we can make sure the treatment is safe and effective for you.
If you've used Accutane in the last 6-8 months, have an aspirin allergy, or have taken any meds that make your skin extra sensitive to light, we might need to put the brakes on the microneedling for now. Safety first, right?
And if you've had skin cancer in the past, we'll need to make sure you've been cancer-free for at least 3 years or get the all-clear from your doc before we proceed.
Oh, and one more thing – if you're pregnant or planning to wax or get another peel within the next week, it's best to hold off on the microneedling for now.
AFTER
After your session, we'll set you up with a personalized plan tailored just for you. We'll give you a couple of serums to use every day, and don't worry – we'll make sure you know exactly how to use them before you leave.
Now, here's the deal with sun exposure – your skin's going to be a bit more sensitive after the treatment. So for the next little while, try to stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible. If you do have to go outside, pop on a hat and some shades, and make sure you're wearing sunscreen every day to keep your skin protected.
